Book Summary
Cracking the Code of the Egyptian Relationshit: An insight into the complicated world of marriage and dating in the confusing Egyptian society This book is a guide to Egyptian women who are facing nowadays many obstacles in finding Mr. Right and getting him to settle down. Although this seems like a global phenomenon, the Egyptian society has its own combination of contradictions, double standards, and local culture that makes the task all the more difficult for the ladies. Not only do they have to deal with the normal hatred of commitment that men have, they have to struggle with issues concerning virginity, reputation, and traditions that currently make marriage a huge investment above the capabilities of most young men. There are 20 chapters in this book, in which ten are dedicated to portraying ten different types of men and how they play women in our society. Each chapter includes psychological studies and sometimes even scientific ones that explain the man's behavior (the men referred to as convicts in this section of the book), danger signs to spot that he's not what he seems, how to avoid being in such a relationship, and lastly a damage control plan to use in case all else fails. Convicts in this section include * The guy who pretends he's open minded and westernized but will only see you as dating material but will marry a woman who is more like his mother. * The guy who seems he's interested in your dad more than in you because he is actually a gold digger and wants an all expense paid marriage. * The guy who openly admits to you that he is messing around with other women, but knows that you are the one for him and is keeping you for marriage because you're a respectable woman, and he actually thinks this is a compliment! …And much more of the madness that can only be found in the Egyptian society. The last ten chapters address problems with women themselves and the mistakes they do when they are in relationships even when they do manage to get a decent man. Each chapter discusses why they make these mistakes, and an analysis of how their upbringing and the constrains of culture and society affect their behavior, how can this flaw be fixed, and a comparison between how she thinks she's acting but how it is actually perceived in the eyes of an Egyptian man. Women flaws in these chapters include * Being fake: Pretending to think and act in a certain way, or have certain beliefs just to come off as "marriage material" * Being too self centered: Women are raised with the belief that a man should crawl on his knees before he's able to get to her, and should be willing to pay every penny in his pocket for it. They end up being too self centered and non-giving in a relationship. *Being too air headed: Sadly many women in Egypt have an unusual capability to talk about a purse for two hours. There's not much substance, and they do not pay attention to improving their intellect. As long as they are carrying the latest Gucci bag they're fine, or so they think! And much more… Last but not least there's a cheat sheet that includes a list of commandments that women should stick to regardless of which of the 20 scenarios applies to them. The book will take you in depth into the mysteries of this society, the contradicting ideologies and different backgrounds that make almost nothing apply as a ground rule, yet it tries to reach a common understanding of how to crack the code… of the Egyptian relationshit.
